Nantahala Lake Log Cabins - Vacation Rental NC
The area offers a wide range of activities from horseback riding or a canopy tour via zip line through the Nantahala Forest NC. Rent a canoe and explore and swim in the Nantahala Lake or go whitewater rafting on the Nantahala River NC. We are close to some great attractions; visit the Cherokee Reservation for great day of local shopping and visit the Cherokee Village or the Cherokee Museum which gives an insight into their history and tells the infamous story of the “Trail of Tears”.
NOC's signature course is the Mountaintop Zip Line Tour. There are many zip line canopy tours, but there are none like the Mountaintop. The Mountaintop is perched on the rim of the Nantahala Gorge, over 500 feet above the Nantahala River below, featuring 360-degree views of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Nantahala Gorge.
The Museum of the Cherokee Indian is “A Model for Museums.” And like the Cherokee people themselves, it’s entirely unique. Experience the 11,000-year-old Cherokee story vividly. If your idea of a museum includes dusty displays tended by a boring curator, get ready to rediscover what a museum can be. Inspired by the beauty and ingenuity of the Cherokee people, this is a cultural and historical tour without equal, one fused with interactive video, intriguing displays, and a full sensory experience.
Step through our doors and discover up close the Cherokee people’s spirit of inventiveness, resilience, and will to survive. Let yourself be guided through a moving journey that illustrates who the people of Cherokee really are, where they came from, and why they’re still here. Keep a hankie close; Cherokee history is serious stuff. See more at:

Great Smokey Mountains Railroad
Each year, thousands enjoy the thrill of a rafting or kayaking trip down the Nantahala. The last eight miles of the river is one of the nation's most popular whitewater venues.
Yet when you venture up the mountain above the Nantahala Gorge, there's an entirely different Nantahala — a scenic mountain river with world-class trout fishing and, at 3000 feet elevation, a crystal clear lake with boating, fishing and all kinds of fun.
Whether you are looking for a quiet getaway or an active vacation, you'll find numerous comfortable cabins, lodges and vacation homes dotting the lake shoreline and up the mountainsides.
Once you've discovered this beautiful and peaceful corner of the Smokies, we know you'll be back — again and again. Refreshingly unsophisticated Nantahala — the real Smoky Mountains!
